A 3D survey viewer for cavers
This is the Caveatron LiDAR centerline for stations A2 through A12 (one survey trip on 25 Aug 2025), wrapped together with Blake Goodsell's full cartography of the cave (covering all of A1–A17 plus the B and C series). The 3D model and the survey sheet are linked but live side by side — the model is hard data from the BRIC5 + Caveatron rig, and the survey sheet is the human-drawn truth.
The 3D centerline is a faithful render of the 10 Caveatron survey shots from A2 → A12 (the 25 Aug 2025 trip). Distances, azimuths, and inclinations come straight out of the .srv file with magnetic bearings (matches the Nm arrow on the survey sheet — true north is 10.87° east of magnetic in 2025). A2 is the origin (0, 0, 0); depth is meters below A2. Nothing here is invented — stations not in this Caveatron session are not in 3D.
Caveatron is the open-hardware LiDAR rig by Joe Mitchell. BRIC5 is a SAP rangefinder/inclinometer. UIS Grade 6-4-CD is the highest precision tier on the international cave-survey scale.
